Key Responsibilities:
• Performing sampling and quality control testing on incoming materials and final products
• Performing release activities on components and products
• Implements effective internal controls to verify that processes will meet customer requirements
• Validates that control plans are applied and effective in mitigating known risks
• Assists with Root Cause Analysis of nonconformities and determines corrective actions
• Maintains the Fortescue Hydrogen Systems Quality Management System in line with Fortescue procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Assists with the supplier quality assurance program through a range of tools including defect tracking and supplier audits
• Tracks production data to determine statistical process capability of processes (Ppk / Cpk)
• Executes Part Qualification assessments to provide confidence in final part quality
• Plans and performs internal audits and tracks non-conformances to completion
• Supports external quality audits (e.g. ISO9001 audits) by local certification agencies / regulatory authorities
• Schedules and executes the site Management Review meeting
• Supports a Quality Culture within local PM-C, by assuring and controlling Quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations.
Skills & Experience:
• Demonstrated experience delivering quality-focused outcomes in a mass production manufacturing environment
• Strong abilities in metrology and interpretation of mechanical drawings - geometric dimensioning and tolerancing skills essential
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
• 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving and project management skills
Desirable:
• Proven experience in an auditing role under ISO9001 or equivalent
• 8D analysis
• Experience as a quality engineer in the CNC precision machining industry is preferred
